Cute Clothes for Baby Boys
Boys first? Why not!
It’s a simple fact that there aren’t as many options to dress up baby boys as there are for girls. This can be a good thing – dressing baby boys is easy! It can also be disappointing – should you put baby in a navy onesie today or the light blue one with a tractor on it? If you had your heart set on fashion and style for your baby, take heart. There’s plenty to embrace about the simplicity of baby boy fashion!
For my boy, basic outfits usually consisted of:
- Onesies or rompers
- T-shirts or button down shirts and shorts or pants
- Overalls
- Outerwear, weather determining
Accessorise with:
- hats
- mittens
- cute shoes
- bandanna bibs
Cute Baby Clothes For Baby Boys
Ok, this might be a bit more of a novelty choice, and it would also be great for Halloween, but how cute are these? There are also loads of options, so if you’re not into Incredibles, Toy Story and Nemo, there’s also some classic Disney options that include character outfits like Donald Duck.
Plain? Dark colors? For me, this one is all about the striped bodysuit. Stripes are my favorite on a boy!
Love this set of dark colors and dinosaurs (my other two favorite things when it comes to boys clothes).
Bright and cheerful! These short sleeved bodysuits are perfect by themselves in the heat of a hot summer (or with pants if your summer is a little less fierce.)
Love the muted colors on these and Beatles fans will love the lyric references.
Aww. A traditional baby blue set for your baby boy. (Again, I’m all about that stripe.)
Ok, I couldn’t resist. With the Avengers and Marvel so popular these days, what could be more fun than dressing your little man as Spidey, Iron Man or Captain America? Also makes for a great Halloween costume (that’s easy and not uncomfortable.)
I love navy clothes for baby boys and this set does it well with the orange accents. Looks adorable!
If you need to take your little one to a special event, an outfit like this is perfect and utterly adorable!
I love the polo shirt style of these rompers (and the stripes of course.)
Worth checking out! This is sooooo stinking cute (no pic available though) It’s a little sleeveless romper with watercolor whale print – Check it out here!
This is the cutest thing ever and will keep your baby snug and warm in cold weather!
Get sporty with this super cute outfit.
Another novelty-ish outfit – perfect for a photo shoot or Halloween?
Love those dark colors!
This is such a sweet print and the fabric looks so soft and comfy.
More polo shirt goodness in a navy stripe! Win, win, win!
What could be cuter than a Christmas outfit? You gotta have one, right?
A sweet and soft print that looks utterly adorable.
I love dinosaurs on boys – this one is bright and colorful!
These handrawn-style elephants are too cute!
Stripes in unconventional colors, I love it!
The Cutest Mittens
These Goumi mitts are perfect for a baby boy! Made from a bamboo/cotton blend, they are deliciously soft and great quality. There are several different pattern options, including high contrast black and white which will keep your little one entertained!
Baby Boy Bandanna Bibs
One of my absolute favorite must-have baby clothing items is the bandanna bib. They just look so stinking cute on baby!
Bandanna bibs are the best for babies who are teething (and drooling buckets). You could also simply use as a fashion accessory if your baby isn’t drooly… 🙂
One of the best ways to dress up your little boy is with accessories like these gorgeous bandanna bibs.
I love these neutral patterns in the icy blue – and the box set packaging looks classy! These bibs would go with everything.
If you’re tired of blue, or you just want a bit of color to stand out from a lot of blue outfits, these bibs are awesome!
For some different patterns, try these bibs from KiddyStar. They feature the double layer design for great drool absorption.
Cute Clothes for Baby Girls
There is no end to the array of cute clothes for baby girls. They have more options when it comes to outfit choices and there are simply far more styles for girls than there are boys. And when it comes to accessories, girls win again with lots of cute options for hair bows, headbands, ruffled diaper covers and more…
Your outfit choices inclue:
- onesies and rompers
- t-shirt or blouse and shorts, pants or skirts
- dresses
Accessorise with:
- hats
- mittens
- cute socks or shoes
- bandanna bibs
- ruffled diaper covers for under dresses
- hair bows or headbands
My Top Picks!
I’m not a huge ‘pink’ girl, and the shade of lurid Barbie girly pink that is super common for babies I find rather hideous. (Sorry if you love your hot pink!) Most of the picks below are not in the super girly hot pinks, in fact, I’ve chosen mostly classic colors and styles with some softer shades thrown in.
I love watercolor pastels and this little outfit rocks it with the soft tones.
Does red seem too strong a color for a baby? No way! I love strong and unexpected colors for little ones and this gorgeous little red and white outfit is perfect! This would make part of a lovely Christmas outfit or for another special occasion.
This is a cute little pastel and floral number that comes with a sweet hair bow head band as a matched set. Beautiful!
Proof that you don’t need pink to be girly! This set of 3 little rompers is sweet as can be and utterly adorable in pastel blue, grey and white.
One of my favorite colors! This little outfit is so sweet with those ruffles – perfect for a summer baby!
Another sweet option is this denim pinafore-esque number. Just add a t-shirt for a lovely outfit – cute and colorful or plain white would go well.
A little bit pink! I love polka dots, spots and stripes… and even florals sometimes. These look really pretty and come in a set of two.
Right on trend – this stripes + floral sleeveless outfit would make a good warm weather ensemble… or add a long sleeve t-shirt or sweater for a cool weather outfit.
Hearts are a pretty common theme for baby girl clothes, but these ones are a little different! Firstly, the hearts are black and white and secondly, they look handrawn and messy… different and cute!
I love Japanese style prints and outfits and this one ticks all the boxes with it’s sweet and soft cherry blossom print!
I love this outfit, I would in fact, wear something similar… if it came in my size! White lace and denim is a tried and true combination no matter what age you are.
This outfit is just plain fun! The bright colors are perfect for standing out in photos, or for a special occasion. The matching head band is a sweet touch.
Pastel pink and blue florals, what’s not to love!
The hearts on this outfit seem like they’re hand colored which adds an element of cool to this sweet and simple romper/dress combo.
Aww, this super cute dusty rose sweater onesie looks way more expensive than it is. Perfect for winter babies!
Another gorgeous dusty pastel pink knit for warmer weather. There’s just something about knits in these colors that makes them look classy and like you paid waay more money for it than you did.
Because we can’t let the boys have all the fun! Here’s a superhero outfit for the girls.
More stripes love! These are a little different for girls – the colors are much more muted than the usual. Probably why I love it.
No pic but sooo cute – (Japanese style and worth checking out) Check it out here!
I’m not the biggest fan of Juicy Couture, but I love this pack just for the leopard print bodysuit. And that’s mainly because I’ve NEVER seen tan/black leopard print for a baby. Love it!
This is much more my shade of pink – this basic set of onesies are sweet and simple.
Love this unusual print – it really stands out!
A cute outfit set – I love the striped shirt with the spotted pants.
Sometimes, you need a formal dress and this white one is super cute. (Perfect for Christenings or a wedding.)
Do you love the Disney princesses? Now you can get a bodysuit pack of your favorites!
Spotted dresses are my favorite – especially when they come in navy! Love it.
Hot pink, rainbows and unicorns. How much more cuteness could you add to this adorable outfit? The off shoulder neckline is also really different, but great for summer babies!
Another formal dress option, this one has a really cute lemon print on it for a splash of color.
Did I mention I love black, white and grey for babies? Here’s some adorable dresses in a pack that include a little bit of pink on a monochrome base. You can add color with accessories like bandanna bibs or hair bows or leggings.
A cute, classic cable knit sweater in red. It’ll stand out and it’s perfect for Christmas.
I love this set just for the pink spotted dress.
Does this set remind anyone else of Minnie Mouse? Just me? I love the spots and the bows, also the black, white and pink color combo is just darling!
Couldn’t get through this list without including something with a tulle tutu. I love this varying colored pastel skirt with the soft pink!
Another beautiful floral formal dress option (that comes with a handy diaper cover that matches). Love the color!
More goumi mitts! These pretty florals are perfect for your precious princess.
Cute and Girly Bandanna Bibs
If unisex bandanna bibs aren’t your thing, these cute and girly versions might be right up your alley. Girly bibs tend to include more pastel colors, pinks, spots, and of course, florals.
If you were team green or have lots of neutral, unisex outfits, girly bandanna bibs are a great way to ‘girlify’ your baby’s clothes.
Sometimes little girl things can be TOO floral, if you know what I mean… these ones are pretty neutral (all things considered). My favorites are the spotty ones, and the pink floral on the white background (yes, I do like florals… but not all the time). Just gorgeous!
And just in case you’re a floral-all-the-way kinda mom, here’s some outrageously pretty and bold florals for you!
I love the pastel pink gingham and the broken stripes pattern of these bandanna bibs! Actually, I like the green spotted one and the black and white one too. This is a winning set!
Finally… a super cute alternative to the bandanna style…
These infinity scarf style bibs are utterly adorable! If you’re boho at heart, or in love with the bohemian style for your little girl, you’ll love these.
Headbands and Hair Bows
One option that little girls have that boys don’t is the hair bow or headband. Newborns can take a while to grow their hair, so until they do its nice to be able to show that your little girl is in fact a girl with a pretty hair bow or headband. And once your baby has hair, its still an utterly adorable accessory.
My favorite:
This is a 10 pack of headbands/bows – so you’ll be sorted for everyday and every occasion. You’ve got a good variety of styles and colors with this pack so you’ll be able to mix and match to your little princess’s outfits.
There are only about a gazillion million options for little girls hair bows… so here’s where you can find the whole lot of them on Amazon. You’re sure to find the perfect bow or headband for your little one.
Cute Clothes for Team Green Babies
Are you team green?
(If you haven’t come across this term before, basically it means you aren’t finding out the gender until birth)
If so, you might have felt the pressure when buying cute baby clothes – you’ve probably seen the most adorable boys outfit or the most sweetest dress for a girl and wondered whether it will still be around once you know what your baby will be.
Being Team Green actually has a lot of benefits:
- you’ll be allocating most of your early clothing budget to quality neutrals rather than trendy items
- you’ll be able to reuse the same clothes for your next baby, even if they are a different gender
- if you really want to pink or blue your baby’s wardrobe you can easily add accents with inexpensive accessories like bandanna bibs and hair bows.
The majority of ‘Team Green’ neutrals come in:
- green or yellow
- black and white
- grey, taupe or other natural colors
My favorite is black and white, as it makes a great base for layering other colors on top.
My Top Picks for Cute Team Green Clothes
This is a big pack of bodysuits and it pretty much includes EVERY pattern you’re likely to see a lot when team green: elephants, stars, clouds and stripes. It’s an interesting color combination too – the browns, greys and mint greens look really pretty together.
I’m a sucker for a cute cardigan… especially one with little bear ears on the hood.
This print is a little different to the normal offering for team green! Love the little pops of bright yellow.
Super plain pack of long sleeved body suits… why is it on this list? Well, I like the stripes and the different shades of grey!
Another set of grey and white, mostly patterned body suits. Love the spots and the stripes.
Just because you’re team green doesn’t mean you have to avoid colors. Any of these colors from this set would look just fine for a boy or a girl.
Foxes are one of my favorite things for baby clothes. These sleeping gowns are so cute and gender neutral!
One of my favorite footed onesies looked just like this for my little one. Love it!
Super cute teddy bear style sleeveless outfit! This would make a great gift or winter outfit.
I don’t normally love slogan tees, but this set is just adorable. Wear the hat for a boy and the headband for a girl.
These black and white gingham harem pants are eye-catching! Perfect paired over a onesie or with a sweater or t-shirt.
A short sleeved and leggless version of my favorite outfit.
This one has slightly more feminine styling but the contrasting buttons are a nice touch and it’d look utterly adorable on a boy or a girl.
Black and white with a pop of bold yellow. What’s not to like!
If you’re a fan of grey, you’ll like this set. I also love the buttons and styling that make it look like a normal shirt… just with the snap crotch.
Baby shark, doo doo doo! I love shark print on baby clothes and this one is super cute.
What an adorable little outfit. It looks so cuddly and snuggly!
Unisex Bandanna Bibs
Already know you’re having a boy or a girl? Don’t skip over these unisex bandanna bibs just yet! Though unisex bibs do tend towards the boyish… they also look great on little girls.
The beauty of a unisex bandanna bib is that they tend to be neutral and won’t compete with whatever your little one is already wearing. So, if you’ve got your little girl in a beautiful floral dress, a black and white striped bib might be just the ticket to show it off perfectly.
A couple of other reasons I love neutrals:
- It’s way easier to add a neutral bib to an outfit without worrying about the patterns clashing.
- Neutrals are classic and can be reused again and again.
- I often feel like neutrals look more expensive. This is probably because so many higher end baby clothes companies use neutrals a lot!
There you have it. Neutrals = classy!
My Top Picks:
I love the different neutral patterns of these Parker Bandanna bibs! They are also super soft and double layered so baby can drool for hours without it soaking through.
I know you’ll LOVE how these bibs go with your baby’s outfit… rather than detracting from it.
These super soft and stylish bibs from Mish Mish baby come in a handy pack of 8. 7 are black and white and 1 is dark blue and white (the striped one).
Ooh ahh! Beautiful organic cotton bibs with natural colors? Amazing! These bibs from Mrs Muffet are also beautifully soft and well made.
